Support for wellbeing:

  • Dealing with Anxiety: generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, health worries, exam and job worries.
  • Adjustment to the impact of life transitions and events: job, house, university moves, psychological issues related to illness and health needs, adjustment to your or a family member's additional needs, antenatal and postnatal support and therapy.
  • University and work related challenges (e.g. social relationships with peers, stress at work or in education, coping with University, relocating for work, work coaching for ADHD and autism).
  • Support with romantic relationships and relationships with family and friends.
  • Building self-confidence and resilience
  • Low mood (unfortunately I am not able to provide the right level of support for self-harm or suicidal ideation).
  • Coaching for personal and professional life; working towards longer term life goals, developing relationships and a meaningful life.

Specialism in Autism, Asperger's, ADHD, ADD, Dyspraxia and Dyslexia:

  • My specialism in my private practice and in the NHS has been working with people with a diagnosis (or some traits of) Autism, Aspergers, ADHD, ADD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. I have a great deal of experience and expertise in this area in helping people achieve their potential.
  • People with these diagnoses may well have a 'spiky' cognitive profile with some issues around their speed of making sense of information (processing speed) or their immediate memory (working memory) in comparison to their overall general intelligence. These differences can create organisational (executive skills) issues and lead to procrastination or not achieving to the level their intellectual abilities suggest they can. This can result in anxiety, low self-confidence and low mood.
  • It can be really valuable to work through your strengths and areas where you might need more support. We would often consider areas of strength to focus your resources and I provide practical strategies which will scaffold areas you are finding challenging.
I use an integrative approach to provide therapy focusing on managing anxiety, building self-confidence and dealing with life transitions, milestones and areas of challenge. We will take a practical and positive approach to find solutions to help you met your life goals.

If you are looking for support for someone under 18, or you need a Cognitive Assessment, then please do look up the Association of Child Psychologists in Private Practice (ACHIPPP):  https://www.achippp.org.uk/

If you are looking for a high level of support, urgent support or you need help with alcohol or drug use, anger, eating issues, OCD, gender dysphoria, risk-taking behaviours, severe depression, self-harm or suicidal ideation then I can recommend the Psychology Today directory. This allows you to search by geographical area and area of specialism:  https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb
